Relationships and Health Education Policy (RSHE)

PSHE/RSHE Parental Consultation

Since September 2020, all primary schools are required by the Government to teach Relationships and Health Education as part of their PSHE/RSHE curriculum. You can find the details here.

This will help children have positive and safe relationships with anyone they might come into contact with including family, friends and people online.  It will help children make good decisions about their health and well-being and enable them to know how and where to seek support if any health issues arise for themselves or others.

If you would like more information about the statutory Relationships and Health education guidance please click here to read the Government guide -Understanding Relationships and Health Education in your child’s primary school: a guide for parents.

A letter to parents/carers of children at Driffield Junior School explaining the new statutory changes to the PSHE curriculum and how we are sharing these can be found below.  This letter was placed on our app on 25 February 2021.    Parent and carer letter.

We follow the Jigsaw PSHE scheme for all year groups throughout the school.

Below you can find an information leaflet for parents about the Jigsaw scheme that we use in school.  Please bear in mind that we follow the curriculum for years 3-6 as we are a Junior School.
