On Wednesday evening, our Y6 Football Team travelled to Market Weighton to play Mount Pleasant Junior School in the first round of the Humberside Schools U11 Knockout Cup.
On a bitterly cold evening, the boys pulled off an 8-4 victory, progressing to the next round after half term.
The game fluctuated throughout, with Driffield taking an early lead only for Mount Pleasant to equalise.
At half time, the scores were level at 3-3.
Soon after the restart, Driffield went behind for the first time. However, some tactical substitutions led to a resurgence in fortunes with Driffield scoring five more goals as they bombarded the Mount Pleasant goal.
Well done to everybody and many thanks to the travelling support!
