We celebrated our school’s opening in style on Friday. Children and staff looked fantastic dressed as Victorians.
Hannah Stamp, an archivist from the Treasure House in Beverly, led an assembly sharing documents from our school history. The time capsule was then opened and we set the children the challenge of thinking what information they should provide to go in to the capsule when it is resealed and hidden again, ready for the 200th celebration.
Victorian style photographs were recreated with some very miserable looking children. Old plans of the school were investigated, Victorian style lessons were experienced both inside and outside of the classroom including Victorian playtime.
Miss Hyde and her lunchtime team decorated the hall with bunting and balloons for a party lunch which was prepared by Mrs Berriman and her team including a mini birthday cupcake.
Much excitement was created as the whole school made the shape of '150' for a drone to take a commemorative photograph.
Memories were truly made - only 50 years to the next celebration!
