Girls Football Success3 October 2024 (by Catherine Passmore (catherine.hakner)) |
Please see below for Mr Inns' report
Last night saw our second football tournament of the year. However, this time it was the turn of the girls!
Teams from 10 schools took part on the evening with some of the smaller schools combining and some schools loaning players to make up teams. However, in the end, 8 teams took part in a fun round robin tournament with all schools playing each other in six minute games.
In the end, Driffield Juniors emerged triumphant, unbeaten on the evening, closely followed by Hutton Cranswick.
Lots of pictures were taken on the evening which will appear in Driffield & Wolds Weekly over the coming weeks.
Many thanks, as normal, to the staff who gave up their time to run the teams and to the support from the parents, grandparents and siblings on the evening. Also, a big thanks to the Driffield School students, who refereed the games and gained some valuable experience in officiating.
Driffield Juniors now progress to the East Riding Final which will be hosted back at Driffield School on Tuesday 5th November – thermals at the ready!
This Saturday 5th October sees our termly KS1 Cross Country at Driffield Junior School, then next Wednesday 9th October sees our first Hockey tournament of the school year, followed by a Biathlon on the final Wednesday 23rd October (, before the children break up for half term.
Look forward to seeing you at an event!
Regards
Andy Inns
